04/28/2012 - Upcoming Swim 101 - May 18-20 Sackville, NB Mt.A

There will be an upcoming Swim 101 May 18-20, 2012. Mount Allison University, Sackville, NB. The course learning facilitator will be Marta Belsh. Fee: $200 payable to SNB Those of you who are interested in taking Swimming Fundamental Coaching course 101 please review below information. Pre-requisite: 16 years old and older to attend the course.
Steps to register:
1. Go to https://registration.swimming.ca/Courseslistpublic.aspx
- Review the Swimming 101 Pre-Course Reference Materials and complete the Swimming 101 Pre- Course online workbook
- Once your Pre-Course online workbook has been completed, you will receive an email with a PDF copy of your workbook. You will be asked to upload this workbook during the registration process for the Swimming 101 course.
2. Register for and complete a Swimming 101 course
- View a list of courses and register https://registration.swimming.ca/Courseslistpublic.aspx
- Once your registration has been received, your Provincial Swimming Office will verify that your Pre-Course Workbook is complete, and payment for the course has been received.

With the upcoming Atlantic coaches conference at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB May 18-21, 2012 we are planning to run 2 NCCP courses. Kindly let us know if you are planning on attending any of the courses as we need minimum of 8 candidates to run the course.

SWIM 101-directed to new coaches or coaches who have no NCCP qualifications or certification. Please note to sign up for the course you will be required to finish Swimming 101 Pre-Course Online Workbook. This course would also be great for anyone interested to become Learning Facilitator. Please send your application to Swim NB office.

NCCP Swim 201 Course Opportunity - Swim NS is organizing NCCP Swim 201 Course in Halifax area on March 16-18, 2012. The registration will be open soon. Coaches Information

NB SWIMMING COACHES' COMMITTEE (NBSCC)

Both paid and volunteer swimming coaches must be registered members of the New Brunswick Swimming Coaches Committee and the Canadian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association in order to teach, train or coach swimmers who are members of Swimming New Brunswick/Swimming Natation Canada.

Deck privileges at sanctioned competitions for the coaching of SNB registered swimmers will be granted to only those who fulfill the following criteria:
–certified as having a minimum of Level I NCCP complete - all three components (unless still in the first twelve months of coaching);
–registered member of the Canadian Swimming Coaches and Teachers Association;
–paid up member in good standing of the NBSCC.

Committee Requirements:
–One coach per registered club, preferably that club's Head Coach, will have voting privileges at NBSCC Meetings. The meetings are open and all may speak.
–Yearly membership fees will be determined by the Swimming New Brunswick Board, on recommendation of the NBSCC.
–Committee membership will be handled through the Section Office.
–The Committee should meet a minimum of four (4) times annually.
–The Committee will elect a Chair each year prior to the SNB Annual General Meeting.
–Minutes will be taken at each NBSCC Meeting and will be distributed to all registered coaches, the SNB Executive and all club presidents.
