The UNB RED’s hosted their first home meet of the year this past weekend, October 30th-31st. The atmosphere was electric and the pool was filled with the cheers of spectators and teammates. Four teams attended the meet, the UNB REDS, Acadia Axemen/Axewomen, Dalhousie Tigers, and the Mount Allison Mounties. Over the course of the two sessions there were many great performances from swimmers from all of the teams. In the end the Dalhousie Tigers came out on top, winning a total of 22 of the meets 35 races.

Swim New Brunswick’s Varsity’s teams also had some great swims this weekend. From the Mount Allison Mounties Sebastian, Cariaga came 1st in the Men’s 50m backstroke, Oliver Keith came 3rd in the Men’s 100m breaststroke, and Thea Button came 3rd in the Women’s 800m freestyle. From the UNB REDS, Squidney Bewsher came 1st in the Women’s 200m Butterfly, Ahmed Helal came 2nd in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke, Sophie Casey came 3rd in the Women’s 200m breaststroke, Eric Staben came 3rd in the Men’s 50m Fly, Eric Jean came 3rd in the Men’s 200m Butterfly, and Alexie Sanford came 3rd in the 100m Freestyle.
