Atlantic Cup Day 1 Recap
We had a great first day at the Atlantic Cup in Saint John today. With 12 clubs and 155 swimmers this is our biggest meet of the year. Thanks to all the amazing officials, coaches, and swimmers the first day of the meet went extremely smooth.
Day one was split into two sessions, one for 13 and under and the other for 14 and over. The sessions consisted of the 50 freestyle , 200 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, 1500 free, 800 free, and the 4 x100 free relay.
The first place finishes of the day are as follows: Men 13&U 800 freestyle: Samuel Landry, CNBO, with a time of 12:02.15. Woman 13&U 800 freestyle: Sara McNabb, FAST, with a time of 10:19.05. Men 14&O 800 freestyle: Nicholas Dugay, FAST, with a time of 10:11.03. Woman 14&O 800 freestyle: Abby Andrews, SJL, with a time of 9:58.62. Men 14&O 1500 freestyle: Alex Hussey, TIDE, with a time of 17:24.94. Woman 14&O 1500 freestyle: Samantha Norris, FAST, with a time of 20:26.56.
We also had a couple of new Eastern times and Canadian Junior Championship times achieved today! Sara McNabb from FAST achieved an Eastern in her 50 freestyle going a 28.90. Brooklyn Douthwright from CNBO achieved an Eastern in her 200 breaststroke, going a 2:45.33. Jackson Row from SJL achieved two CJC times, one in his 50 free going a 25.51 and the other in his 100 backstroke going a 1:04.38.
