Coupe Atlantique 2022 Atlantic Cup

The countdown to the Atlantic Cup is almost over and it will begin tomorrow in the great city of Saint John NB. 16 clubs from NB, PEI, and NS will be attending the Atlantic Cup bringing 192 swimmers to the pool! The Atlantic Cup is one of our biggest competitions of the season and we are very excited to see some fast, competitive swimming. Thank you to FAST, the host club for making this great competition happen.

Following the Atlantic Cup there will be a three-day camp for the Team NB Canada Games Team. The team consist of 31 swimmers from across the province 15 boys and 16 girls. The camp takes place from July 11th to July 13th. The camp will consist of two practices a day with Team PEI, team building activities, an open water session, nutrition session, and a mental health session. As part of this Camp the team NB swimmers will also be competing together as a team at the Atlantic Cup. This is an important competition for the team as it is their second opportunity to train for the Canada Games after the Neptune meet.

Our Canada Games head coach Rachidi feels like this is a great learning opportunity saying “We are convinced that this opportunity will be a valuable learning experience for the swimmers and staff Team NB. During the Atlantic Cup competition, we will figure out the best option to manage the team during the Canada Games. Input and daily staff meetings would be very helpful.

At every swim meet there is always a need for volunteers to help with officiating and timing. By taking on one of these positions you not only help make it possible to run the meet, but you also get the best seat in the house, to watch your swimmer’s race!
