Quebec Cup in Montreal
Quebec Cup was held between June 25th and 28th in Montreal, Quebec at the newly renovated Olympic Pool. FAST was represented by Gabriella Belsh, Duncan Burns, Jessica Pelletier, Cassidy Richards, Alexie Sanford and Leah Smal. Highlights of the meet were Leah Smal winning silver in the 100 Back and many personal bests over the weekend. Seventeen finals were swam amongst the 6 athletes over the weekend swimming against some of the best in the country and the continent in this international swim meet. FAST was very well represented and all swimmers raced passionately.
Results are as follows:
Gabriella Belsh Friday night placed 4th in 200 IM C Finals with a time of 2:26.98. Sunday night Belsh finished 6th in the 200 Breast C Finals with a time of 2:48.75.
Duncan Burns Friday night placed 3rd in the 200 IM C Finals with a time of 2:14.75, and 3rd in the 200 Fly C Finals with a time of 2:14.29. Saturday night he placed 9th in the 50 Fly C Finals with a time of 27.14 & 9th in the 400 IM B Finals with a time of 4:52.85.
Jessica Pelletier Saturday night placed 2nd in the 100 Back C Finals with a time of 1:07.30, and finishing up on Sunday night Pelletier placed 3rd in the 50 Back B Finals with a time of 31.38.
Cassidy Richards placed 8th in the 200 Back B Finals with a time of 2:26.74 & 1st in the 100 Free C Finals with a time of 58.74. Saturday night she placed 4th in the 100 Back B Finals with a time of 1:06.91. Finishing up on Sunday Richards placed 9th in the 100 Fly A Finals with a time of 1:03.93 & 5th in the 50 Free A Finals with a time of 26.62.
Leah Smal placed 7th in the 100 Free C Finals with a time of 1:00.20 & 7th in the 200 Back A Finals with a time of 2:22.19. Saturday night placed 2nd in the 100 Back A Finals winning a silver medal, Finishing Sunday night Smal placed 9th in the 50 Back A Finals with a time of 31.01.
