2020 Olympic and Paralympic Swimming Trials

Congratulations to the two New Brunswick swimmers from CNBO Brooklyn Douthwright and Danielle Dorris for receiving invitations from Swimming Canada to participate in the Olympic and Paralympic Trials which will take place from March 30 to April 5, 2021. Former FAST swimmer Jacob Gallant has also been invited for these trials.

2021 Virtual National Event Camps

Swimming Canada is hosting six virtual National Event Camps in January. The schedule is the following:

Congratulations to Brooklyn Douthwright on being selected to the freestyle 200m & down camp and to the members of Swim NB technical committee for their participation in these camps as coaches and observers.

COVID-19 Recreation & Sport FAQs (1.7.21)

We wish to provide additional clarification on the restrictions expected in an Orange alert level. The Frequently Asked Questions have been updated and can be reviewed as in the link below.

Updated sections have been highlighted and are related to the following questions:

Q.2 New teams/groups should not begin their activities at this time. Only pre-established single teams/groups should continue their activities. The group must be consistent, and the number of individuals allowed on the field of play should be kept as small as possible to ensure two metres of physical distancing.

Coach NB Women to watch Grant Program

Funding available as part of the Coach NB Women to Watch Grant Program that will provide financial assistance to women coaches looking to advance in their coaching pathway. Up to $500 is available through this grant program. The deadline to apply for this program is February 21, 2021. In order to receive a letter of support from Swimming NB, interested and eligible coaches must let us know by February 12, 2021. Please note that we will support only one candidate. Call for Nominations – Technical committee (TC) 2020-2021- Reminder

We remind you that the call of nominations for the 2020-2021 Swimming New Brunswick TC is available.

If you are interested in supporting Swimming NB as a member of our TC, we look more than forward to receiving your completed Declaration of Intent form by 16th January 2021.

2021 CSCA Age Group Conference

The Canadian Swimming Coaches Association has launched registration for the 2021 CSCA Age Group Coaching Conference taking place on Saturday January 23, 2021.

Cost is $25 / coach and clubs will receive one free registration when registering 4 coaches.

Courses are offered in English and French and schedule and registration information is available at

2021 Swimming NB Coaches Education Courses

Swimming NB is coordinating with Swimming Canada to plan the 2021 online coaching calendar.

We ask our members to inform us of the exact number of coaches interested in taking each type of course (community, 101 and 201) and the preferred language by January 30, 2021.

French Second Language Training

The Sport and Recreation Branch in partnership with Sport NB provide free training in French as a second language.

Lessons will take place virtually on Zoom with Sophie Chiasson, experienced teacher employed by UNB, and this according to the following schedule:
