New Brunswick Athlete Assistance Program (NBAAP)
The Sport and Recreation Branch of the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is accepting applications for the NBAAP for 2020-21 up until the end of February 2021.
The NBAAP provides direct financial assistance to high-performance athletes who have achieved significant results at the national or international level as well as to athletes who have demonstrated a strong potential to earn a spot on a junior or senior national team. Considering that athletes have been greatly impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and have had to modify their training programs to continue their development, the Evaluation Committee will allow for much greater flexibility this year given that sporting events have been cancelled or postponed.
The NBAAP Guidelines and Application Form are available online at www.gnb.ca/nbaap

Discussion re Resuming Competition
With the safe return of some clubs and the new limit gathering of over 50 persons released on Friday 19th June 2020, SNB is looking into the possibility of resuming competition this season, with the aim of simply celebrating the return to swimming. For this purpose, SNB is in the process of creating a provincial working group that will be formed by club presidents, coaches, officials and meet managers.
The objective of this group is to exchange the various experiences on the return to training and to start imagining how we can organize a swimming competition in the current circumstances.
