2022-23 Swim NB Devo and NextGen Camps

SwimNB is in the process of setting up three development camps in the 3 regions of the province and a provincial NextGen camp.   ? Development Camps: 4 or 5 February 2023. The host club can choose the date. ? NextGen Camp: January 22, 2023, Facility must include a gym and classroom.   We ask that clubs who wish to host these camps to submit this FORM to info@swimnb.ca before December 22. Please note that Swim NB will cover all camp expenses (pool rental, coaches’ fees, swim caps, etc.) and the host club coach will liaise with our provincial coach to plan the camp.    A preliminary list of swimmers invited to these camps can be found HERE.

Meet Calendar

We remind clubs from the District East that Invitational #1 planned for January 14-15, 2023, is still available. A distance meet format will be accepted for this competition. Clubs in this region interested in hosting the invitation should contact us before December 16th.

Golden Flipper Challenge

New Brunswick swimmers have a strong lead over Northeastern and Northwestern BC swimmers. 437 points for NB vs. 138 for BC. Full results are available HERE.

We encourage coaches to enter their swimmers in the 100 breast in sanctioned meets.

Sondage – JCG2022 – Survey

We remind you that Swim NB would like to know what you think about the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara, Ontario and we ask you to fill out this SURVEY by December 19, 2022.

We invite swimmers who participated in the Games and those who attended training and camp but did not make the team, the parents of those swimmers, all club presidents and coaches to share their thoughts, even if no one from your club went to the Games.

In addition to this survey, SNB will also be organizing a round table discussion of coaches and others involved in the Games. Our goal is to prepare “Lessons learned” from the Games and from our preparations – including the training camps and the Canada Games Plan. We know that some things went well, but also that there were various problems and challenges and the survey, and the round table will help us to avoid these as we move forward.

You can fill out and return the survey by email to info@swimnb.ca. You can also print it and fill it out with a pen and return it to us as a scanned document, or even by the post. Doing the survey should take you about 15 to 20 minutes.

With your help, our goal is to provide the best preparation possible for our swimmers and coaches as they look towards St-Johns in 2025.

Thanks very much!
