Newsletter #49/2020
Race Again Challenge
We are pleased with the participation of several NB swim clubs in the RaceAgain Challenge hosted by SNC. From mid-December, a new challenge will be launched and will propose an introduction stage followed by 3 stages.
Clubs can submit results, using Hytek Team Manager, from unsanctioned competitive opportunities, completed within the framework of a workout or from sanctioned Time Trials. For more information about the events available, please see the link below.
There will not be a virtual Eastern Canadian Championship offered this year, therefore SNC will be offering a certificate of achievement for swimmers who meet the standards (for both long course and short course) at any point during the challenge.
Athlete Development Matrix – Life and Mental Skills
As announced in October, Swimming Canada is rolling out the Appropriate Athlete Development and Athlete Development Matrix (ADM) resources over the coming months. The first document released on October 15, 2020 was an overview of athlete development pathway and the introduction of the Athlete Development Matrix.
This month, SNC is releasing the Life and Mental Skills pillars of the ADM. This resource includes stage by stage skills over a variety of Life and Mental skills, including key Social and Emotional Learning competencies.
You can access the resources by signing into the Swimming Canada Learning Management System (LMS).
The Physical Capacity pillar will follow in January, the Technical/Tactical/Strategic pillar in February and the full document will be posted to the Learning Management System in March.
