TIDE seeking two assistant coaches
Seeking Assistant Coaches
Start date: Immediate with Season Beginning Sept 1st, 2015
Saint John Fundy Swim Club (TIDE) is seeking 2 (two) enthusiastic and reliable part-time assistant Coaches (6 -10 hours/week and 8- 20 hours/week).
They will be working with young (Shark, Jr. A and Jr. B.) Swimmers under the direction of our head coach. Some time may be required to also assist coaching with senior swimmers
We have a rich history of success at all levels. TIDE swimmers have competed at all major Provincial and Canadian swim meets and is a strong and proud team in New Brunswick. Our main facility is the Saint John, NB Canada Games Aquatic Centre pool. This facility is the only 50 meter pool in New Brunswick which affords our swimmers unique training opportunities.
Practices run Monday and Friday 4:00 to 6pm, Wednesdays 4:30 to 7:30PM and Tuesday and Thursday’s 4:30 to 6:00pm. Long Course practices are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings 6:00 to 8:00 AM. Depending on skill levels, some Jr. A swimmers may be invited to some morning LC practices where coaching support is required. Some weekends will be required for competitions, for example last Season TIDE Jr. B and Jr. A team attended approximately 10 meets
To join TIDE’s winning team, the successful candidates will be/possess:
? at least 19 years of age.
? an excellent knowledge of the technical and training aspects of competitive swimming.
? personal competitive swim experience will be considered an asset.
? experience working with a Head Coach in the development and delivery of all aspects of a club program.
? strong leadership and ability to communicate effectively with swimmers at various ages, parents and other club coaches.
? excellent administrative and time management skills.
? adaptability and the ability to motivate swimmers to achieve their best!
Other requirements of the position include:
? Skills Coach Certification or higher
? Eligible for CSCTA registration
? Yearly police background check
? familiarity with LTAD Model and in particular coaching swimmers and athletes at the FUNdamentals and Learn to Train level.
Compensation will be commensurate with the level of qualifications of the successful candidates.
Only those expenses approved by the Board associated with out of community Meets and education/training may be considered for reimbursement.
