Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Program

Coach New Brunswick is pleased to announce the selection of two New Brunswickers that will be part of the Women in Coaching Apprenticeship Program at the 2013 Canada Summer Games.  Kelsey Daley from Fredericton (Basketball) and Melanie Melanson from Moncton (Swimming) have been chosen as New Brunswick’s participants in this national program.

Both women will serve as members of the New Brunswick coaching staff for their sport at the 2013 Canada Summer Games, as well as take part in the upcoming “Women in Coaching Canada Games Apprenticeship Seminars” in Montreal in conjunction with the Sport Leadership Conference November 8th-10th 2012.

Coach New Brunswick, and Team New Brunswick, are pleased to add these two female coaches to the team for the 2013 Canada Summer Games being held in Sherbrook, Quebec August 2nd to 17th 2013.

Female coaches from each provincial and territorial team from across Canada participate in this important educational program.  The Coaching Association of Canada, the Canada Games Council and Sport Canada are major supporters of the program.

“There is a real need to have more women involved in coaching in this province.  This is an opportunity for us to develop two high performance female coaches and to motivate more women to pursue careers in coaching” says Manon Ouellette, Executive Director of Coach New Brunswick.

“We are very lucky to have Kelsey Daley and Melanie Melanson in New Brunswick.  They are two coaches that are extremely dedicated to their sport”.
